Thanks, Jennette. It is surprisingly hard to keep a schedule and maintain the family life when one spouse has to be away at times, isn't it? I find Dave's shiftwork very, very hard for that as well. (He alternates days and nights, so it's pretty hard on him, first and foremost.)

This is beautiful. My husband used to travel with a singing group when we were first married. Sometimes a week, two or three or more at a time. Hard to really plan anything. He did that for the next seven years until our first child turned one. I am so thankful he is home now every night except for a few weeks when he's gone to Zambia which recently has been every other year or so. I feel for people when their spouse is absent. It makes for a surreal life and constant adjusting to maintain balance.

The plum is a double flowering plum, an ornamental shrub that's grown for the flowers rather than any fruit. I've wanted one for years and years, so I'm pretty thrilled to have finally acquired it. (I'm a plant nerd.)

Do post! I don't know if I've ever seen a gardenia face to face. They would die a horrible and swift death up here in Manitoba.

I like the one labeled plum2. Beautiful! And the picture of the tile is way too familiar...reminding of our remodeling of the kitchen and dining room. The two bush type plants growing in the front our home just started blooming. I think they may be gardenias, but I'm not sure. They smell good. I'm thinking of posting some pictures the week after next (if I remember). :)

I just have the younger two right now, and they are a pair of rabid badgers with each other. Which pushes my buttons worse than anything. "I asked you to do X, not fight about how to do it." GRRR. Right now, they're cleaning up their rec room mess with relatively little fuss, but I just spent an hour wrangling them (example, yes, no, thank you, NO, now this, NOOO, etc etc) to help constructively.

No worries about the 7 Things...Diane and I are determined to torture Marc because he hasn't blogged in a dog's age, that's about it :)
