It’s cold and gross out. We were lately graced, here in Canada, with a typical January blessing: A week of -40 and wind. Therefore, a little escapism is in order. In 2011, we fled this kind of meteorological travesty and spent a week in Galveston, Texas. That story is here.
Having the ocean right outside our window was fantastic, and the historic buildings are quite striking on a misty, rainy day. Not to mention, there’s nothing like a southern graveyard for interest factor.

Looks chilly. And the perfect setting for a Hammer movie.
It was chilly, indeed…to those of us below the 30th parallel. Now, Hammer with vampires that say “y’all” and “say now little lady I’m fixin’ to bite your neck.” Sounds pretty good.
