The Ballsy Boys
After spending yesterday evening in a large auditorium watching a sometimes interesting, sometimes tedious, but always long variety of student dances for the local arts festival, we came home.
Normally this is a fine thing. But last night, just after ten, we pulled in to discover that the coal boiler had seriously racked itself up. The firebox was piled to the top with powdered coal that had been pulverized by the auger. The tubes in the heat exchanger were packed with a sludge consisting of coal dust and condensate, a tarry slop like cold liquid asphalt, if you can imagine. Continue reading

An Entry in the Journal
I’m often left feeling a failure and a disappointment. I feel that I’ve failed others when I can’t make myself understood. I am disappointed in myself when this creates confusion, rather than edification. I don’t feel right about excessive explanation of my point of view; I’m well aware it could take days or months to sift all the weird things that constitute its ingredients, and it would not be prudent or godly to focus that much on the pursuit of my own thoughts at the expense of other matters.
